Welcome to the project portfolio of George Mwika Kayange, PhD: a selection of development research, digital innovation and nonprofit projects delivered in Malawi, Southern Africa and beyond.

This page brings together my work across three areas. Development Research covers studies and reports on development issues in Malawi and beyond. Digital Innovation features web platforms and online tools built for education, travel, and small business support. Nonprofit Expertise showcases projects on disability inclusion, early childhood education, human rights monitoring, among others.

These are just examples, not the full list. In development work alone, I estimate managing over 30 projects in 20+ years. Each project shown reflects hands-on work with real communities and organisations, from evidence-based research to digital tools and support for vulnerable groups.

Development research projects

My development research projects focus on evidence that helps governments, funders and communities make better decisions. They include a study of the impact of COVID-19 on persons with disabilities, and the assistive technology mapping project for Southern Africa, which builds on my doctoral research into assistive technology ecosystems in the region.

Digital innovation projects

The digital innovation projects in this project portfolio show how practical web platforms and online tools can support education, travel and small business. They include UK Study Connect, Malawi Spotlight and BizLounge, an affiliate marketing automation project.

Nonprofit and inclusive education projects

My nonprofit projects cover disability inclusion, inclusive early childhood education, youth disability advocacy, health services for persons with disabilities and a school library construction project in Malawi. In each case the aim was practical, community-centred change rather than reports that sit on a shelf.
