My track record showcases a multitude of remarkable accomplishments, of which I’d like to highlight a few illustrative examples:
For nearly eight years, commencing in 2013, I was pivotal in mobilising resources through grant proposals to NORAD. These collaborative efforts with the Norwegian Federation of Organisations of Disabled People (FFO) paved the way for the Southern Africa Federation of the Disabled (SAFOD) to execute transformative projects.
Notably, these projects encompassed capacity-building training workshops for national Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in Southern Africa, focusing on the Monitoring and Reporting of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) as just one example of several NORAD-funded projects I implemented with my team.
From 2017 to 2022, I mobilised resources in partnership with Loughborough University for the Arts & Crafts Project.
This innovative initiative aimed to empower artists and craftspeople with disabilities and foster community engagement through the creation of art and craft artefacts.
The project effectively bridged connections between inclusive crafts development stakeholders in Southern Africa and their counterparts in the UK, fostering the exchange of best practices.
A notable achievement was my leadership in securing funding from the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) to implement the Inclusive Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) Project.
Launched in 2016, this project was dedicated to strengthening the capacity of OPDs to enhance access to quality ECDE services for children with disabilities.
My main achievement was developing a draft Regional (SADC) Inclusive ECDE Strategy, which is a testament to my fundraising prowess.
